Luxurious Bathroom Remodels

With inflation on the rise, more homeowners are opting to stay put in their current housing. However, we need more out of our spaces than ever before. What was once a private haven, now serves double, or even triple duty as an office, school, entertainment space- and in some cases- as a short term rental. It comes as no surprise that many owners are choosing to make splurges on their current homes- adding a luxurious, custom touch to their spaces. From chic laundry rooms, to income generating accessory dwelling units, and everything in between, we help our clients get the most out of their square footage.

Our clients approached us with a beautiful home in Simpsonville, South Carolina that they were ready to put their personal touch on. They chose to revamp the primary and guest bathrooms to better suit their taste. Calming blues and grays combined with honed marble tiles transformed these bathrooms from unassuming and beige to two beautiful and relaxing spaces.

Primary Bathroom

Our clients’ stately master bathroom was caught in the past. The brown and beige color combination over such a large space left the bathroom with a lackluster feel. The dark fixtures and finishes only accentuated the bathroom’s monochromatic color scheme. The cream colored vanity, and large tub shrank into their alcoves instead of standing out. Overall, this bathroom’s updates were mostly aesthetic, but they just go to show the complete transformation that new finishes and an updated color palette can have on a space.

Our clients opted to go from earthy beiges to calming grays in their primary  bathroom remodel. Walls painted a light gray shade in Sherwin Williams’ Passive set the stage for this bathroom’s serene surroundings. The double sink vanity is painted in Sherwin Williams’ Tin Lizzie. This  medium gray hue pops against the light walls and white marble countertops. Our clients chose to trade the vanity’s scroll detail for fluted columns, and added mirrored doors to the matching medicine cabinets on either side of the sinks. Previously, the vanity had two undersized mirrors hung in the alcove. Installing one large mirror not only makes the look more cohesive, but also illuminates the space significantly. The dated sconces above the mirror were traded for matching wall sconces on either side of the medicine towers. Now, the bathroom’s vanity stands out, while simultaneously serving as an anchor point for this bathroom’s completed look.

The previous bathroom had an inset whirlpool tub that got lost in the bathroom’s floor to ceiling beige color scheme. Not to mention, the extra effort involved in keeping the grout around the tub clean made using it a chore. Our team replaced the old jacuzzi with a freestanding tub. Freestanding tubs are a popular choice for our clients because they are just as beautiful as they are practical. Not only do they come in every shape and size imaginable, but cleaning behind and around them is a breeze. Marble 12” x 24” tiles line the alcove’s walls, creating a backsplash. Extending large format tile up a wall creates an illusion, making the space that it’s placed in appear larger. Bigger tiles also means less grout, and are an increasingly popular choice for bathrooms.

The shower received the same five-star treatment as the rest of the bathroom. Honed marble tiles in a brick lay pattern line the walls and ceilings, but this walk-in shower is anything but monotonous. A mirrored accent box not only adds visual depth and interest, but the reflection lightens the interior of the shower. Herringbone tile on the shower floor breaks up the space’s brick lay pattern.

Despite its gray color palette, this bathroom is far from gloomy. Incorporating warmer tones through the bathroom’s pulls and plumbing fixtures ensures that the space doesn’t come across too cold. Not to mention, the floor’s whimsical, waterjet patterned tile adds a contemporary touch and movement to the space without detracting from the bathroom’s timeless style.

This bathroom is a prime example of classic-meets-contemporary. Timeless marble countertops and tile selections are balanced out by modern light fixtures and warm, gold finishes to create a unique look that our clients will love for years to come!

Guest Bathroom

Our clients chose to remodel their downstairs guest bathroom at the same time. This bathroom, much like the primary, had an earth tone color scheme with dark tile and cabinetry. Even though this bathroom is much smaller, the blue walls and vanity, combined with patterned tile selections creates a youthful look that is anything but ordinary.

Upon entering the bathroom, the bold, blue vanity in Marea Baja stands out against the calming, light blue walls in Sherwin Williams’ Reflection. Rounding the corner, the frameless, walk-in shower is lined, floor-to-ceiling with 4” x 12” honed marble tiles. The back shower wall is set in a herringbone pattern, while the other two are in a traditional, brick lay style. The zig-zag pattern, when laid horizontally, draws the eye outward. This makes the space appear wider, and is a popular choice for smaller spaces like bathrooms and mudrooms.

Our clients opted for a basket weave pattern for the shower floor, and switched it up again with a mosaic style for the rest of the flooring. This bathroom, while small, is proof that mixing patterns doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By selecting tiles that are all a similar color and texture, the patterns complement each other, instead of competing against one another. Polished nickel pulls and finishes keep this bathroom’s look polished and understated.

These two bathrooms couldn’t be more different in terms of size and scope. Both combine timeless, quality tile selections with contemporary colors and finishes to create a classic space with a whimsical twist. We strive to provide our clients with spaces that reflect their personality, all the while providing them with a top-quality finished product.
