Going Green: Whimsical Guest Bath Remodel
It’s no secret that green is in the limelight right now between fashion and interiors. And for good reason- from moody forest greens, to calming sages and everything in between- green is a versatile hue. However, with so many options, picking the perfect shade is no walk in the park! We’ve compiled a few tips to help you choose the perfect green (or any color for that matter) for your space!

How to pick the perfect green
1. Consider Lighting and Undertones
As versatile as green is, its undertones can make selecting the right shade a bit challenging. In addition, lighting plays a key role in how colors appear. Rooms with natural light can handle cooler shades like sage without being gloomy.
However, a deep moody, green might be the look you’re going for in a small space, like a bathroom or home bar. Brighter hues with yellow undertones will lighten any space, and bring a youthful touch to your home. Always test paint or tile samples in different lighting throughout the day to see how they shift.
2. Set the Mood
Green comes in various tones, each evoking a different mood:
Calm: Soft shades like sage or pistachio create a restful atmosphere, ideal for bedrooms or bathrooms.
Energizing: Bright greens like avocado work well in active spaces like kitchens or busy powder rooms.
Earthy: Muted, natural greens like olive or moss bring warmth and coziness to living spaces.
3. Coordinate with Decor
Look at your room’s existing elements. For spaces with warm tones (like wood or gold), earthy greens like olive blend well. Cooler spaces with gray or silver benefit from fresh greens like mint or seafoam. You can also pair green with complementary colors such as beige, navy, or blush for added contrast.
4. Draw Inspiration from Nature
Nature offers countless shades of green, from the vibrant leaves of spring to deep forest greens. Bringing in plants or natural wood elements can further enhance your green palette and give your space an organic feel.
5. Test Before You Commit
Always test a few samples to see how different shades look in your space at various times of the day. This way, you’ll feel confident you’ve chosen the right green for your home.

Our clients incorporated greens with natural wood and brass accents to create a youthful, springtime feeling in their hall bathroom remodel. Due to it not having any natural light, our team designed a custom, freestanding, underlit vanity.
The shower’s herringbone tile shower and whimsical wallpaper add movement to the space. The result is a lively space that is sure to make any guest feel welcome!
