One trend that we expect to carry through to 2023 is the renovation of smaller spaces in order to bring a wow-factor to the home. From bright wallpaper to bold paint palettes, we are seeing little rooms that make a big impact. Oftentimes they are high-traffic spaces, like this recent powder bathroom or this mudroom from 2021, that need to be optimized for storage and daily usage. Incorporating bold paint and bright finishes in small rooms is a fun way to reflect the client’s personality, and bring an unexpected flare to an often forgettable space.
Our clients approached us again in 2022 after our team completed one of our most unique projects to date- a custom backyard treehouse for their kids. The couple decided it was their turn to have something for themselves, and brought our team back to remodel their guest bathroom and laundry room.
Both rooms were renovated in order to optimize underutilized space. The guest bathroom renovation involved converting a linen closet into a large, walk-in shower. The frameless shower, in combination with gold fixtures, and a dark sage hue takes this bathroom transformation from neutral and unassuming to bold and hotel worthy.
Likewise, the new laundry room is located in what was previously attic storage space off of the kids’ playroom. Floor-to-ceiling custom storage solutions optimize wall space with the room’s steeply pitched roof, and provide plenty of space for hanging, folding, and hiding away clutter. The beautiful soft blue color scheme and modern chandelier could *almost* make doing laundry fun!
