Greenville, SC Transitional Kitchen Remodel
Ashmore Builders helped their clients turn an outdated kitchen into a traditional space with contemporary finishes – a popular look that has come to be known as “transitional”. Transitional blends the charm of traditional style with the simplicity and clean lines of contemporary design. This balance is great for homeowners who want to follow current trends, but would rather invest in the long lasting appeal of traditional design. Often, this manifests itself in traditional cabinet faces and straight edged countertops; juxtaposed by contemporary finishes on drawer pulls and plumbing fixtures, as well as the incorporation of natural textures through lighting and accessories.
This kitchen remodel included removing a small central island for better workflow, and exchanging the walk-in pantry for a double door built-in with custom shelving solutions. The kitchen’s seating was moved from the island to under the counter; ultimately adding more storage space without drastically changing the kitchen’s footprint. Vertical pullout shelves on either side of the kitchen’s custom range hood maximize space; housing all of the cook’s essentials within arm’s reach. A herringbone backsplash along with contemporary lighting fixtures from Wayfair lend a contemporary touch to the kitchen’s traditional shaker style cabinetry.
